James Edward Demouey Sr.

James Edward Demouey Sr., known to many as "Moose", age 76, passed from this life to his eternal reward on May 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

James was born in Pascagoula,MS on September 15, 1948. He was a founding member of Blessed Hope Assembly of God Church since 1990.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eula Faye (Isham) Demouey, and one sister, Earline (Demouey)Lyons.

James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Barbara (Hamilton) Demouey; his sons: James "JR" (Hillary) Demouey and Quinton (Belinda) Demouey; his granddaughters: Logan (Benjamin) Dovel and Ashton (Barry) Moore; his great grandchildren: Adelyn and Lillian Dovel, and Harrison Moore; one brother: Robert (Joan) Demouey. As well as a host of other relative and friends.

To honor his life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holder Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS 39563 with the service following at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Terry Havens and Bro. Chuck Scrivener will be officiating. The following loved ones will be serving as pallbearer: Joey Hamilton, John "Bubba" Smith, Shawn Smith, Barry Moore, Benjamin Dovel, Joey Schmitz; Honorary: Ellis DeMouey Jr and Richard Isham. Interment will follow at W.R. Clarke Cemetery.
