Janet Marie (Ryals) Clayton was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully on November 7, 2019, to her heavenly home. Janet was born on November 10, 1934 to Henry and Katherine Ryals of Wilmer, Alabama. She married the love of her life, Richard Carl Clayton, Sr., on April 6, 1957. Of that 62 year union, they welcomed nine children.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother, and three children; Polly Francisco, Robert (Robin) Clayton, and Richard Carl Clayton, Jr. One great grandson, Brandon Kyle Demouey.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Carl Clayton, Sr.,4 sons, Randall Clayton, McClain, MS; Shannon Clayton, Raymond Clayton, both of Franklin Creek, MS., and Grey Clayton, Florida; 2 daughters, Tresea (Gary) Smith, Forts Lake, MS., and Annie James, Pascagoula, MS; Son in law, Frankie (Tina) James, Grand Bay, AL., One brother and sister in law, Clifford (Velma) Ryals, Wilmer, Al. She had 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. She leaves behind two very special friends, Mrs. Earline Smith and Mr. David Rice, both of Forts Lake, MS., along with a host of family and friends.
We would like to extend our thanks to Kindred Hospice, and a special thanks to Kristy Thornhill, Stephanie Catchot, Shelby Hart, and Addie Walters, for their love and care of our dear mother.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS., graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons; David Smith, E.J. Rice, William Clayton, Nicholas James, Randall Clayton, Preston James, Landon James, and Kevin Seal.
