Janie Kay McGee (Huddleston) was an amazing woman who lived a life full of love and
happiness. To all who knew her, she was a momma, daughter, sister, maw maw, aunt, cousin,
friend, confidant, advice giver, and always a beacon of light when you needed one. She always
had an answer to your questions and she always celebrated your accomplishments. Janie never
met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. She loved with
her whole heart and never failed to make you feel special.
In her younger years, Janie married a man with two children, Curtis and Lauria, who she
chose to love and mother then went on to have two more children, Paul and Starr. She spent her
time raising her family and making a home for them. Later in life, she excelled in Business
Management until retirement. Once her children were grown and her life belonged to her again,
she chose to go back to college where she earned an Associates degree in Human Services. She
also began writing short stories and essays, mostly about her family. A couple of her writings
were published and her sister Jackie loved to brag that her sister was a published author. Janie
also found time to join a local VFW where she donated her time to help organize various
fundraising activities for veteran affairs.
Janie loved simple things in life but her all time favorite thing was spending time with her
family. No matter what that time was spent doing or who it was with, she always brought good
times with her. She made so many wonderful memories with us to remember her by. For those of
us she left behind, our lives are richer just for having her in them.
Janie has joined her heavenly family to live eternally in peace. She is preceded in death by her
father and mother (Silas and Agnes Huddleston) , her brother (JW Huddleston), her sister (Jackie
Miller) and her oldest son (Curtis McGee). She is survived by her brothers (Russell and Donnie
Huddleston), her son (Paul McGee), her daughters (Lauria Barton and Starr Cannon), numerous
grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins spanning multiple generations.
