Jay Walter Hibbs was born on July 19, 1960, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent his life as an operator. He was known above all as a loving husband, father, and “happy” grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Doris, his children, John (Cindy) Hibbs, Scott Everidge, and Molly (Jay) Cowart. Grandchildren, Ezra, Tucker, Levi, Kadyn, Emily, Jackson, and Walker. His brother Jimmy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Jo Hibbs, and his father, Harold Hibbs.

In his lifetime Jay was known for his sweet demeanor as well as his love and dedication to his wife, children, and grandchildren. If he ever hugged you, you knew it! He was one of a kind.

No memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Diabetes Association, your local hospice care, or the Cancer Society.

We are so thankful for the support and care from Deaconess Hospice, especially our nurse Keisha and aide Shay for the love and compassion they displayed caring for us. A big thanks to Rachel, the nurse, for her compassion and understanding. Also, a huge thanks to Dr. Du and Dr. Norduft at Ochsner's for their wonderful care over the last 6 years.
