Jesse Nichols Boykin was born in Brooksville, MS on March 04, 1935 to his loving parents Charlie and Bessie Boykin. Jesse transitioned from this life to eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2024 at University Hospital in Mobile, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie (Bessie) Boykin, son: Norman Boykin, brothers: Charlie Boykin Jr, Earl Boykin, William Gray Boykin, and Pete Boykin.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Lovdie Mae Boykin, Escatawpa Mississippi; daughters: Sheila (Randy) Hardison Helena Mississippi and Vicki (Richard) Marshall Vancleave Mississippi; one son: Phillip Boykin Pascagoula Mississippi and daughter-in-law Susie Boykin Escatawpa Mississippi; sisters: Mary Lou Morton from Starkville Mississippi and Rebecca Joe Ladner from Granada Mississippi, grandsons; Corey Boykin from Ocean springs Mississippi; Kyle Boykin from Pascagoula Mississippi, Russell (Whitney) Hardison from Hurley Mississippi, Thomas Marshall from Vancleave Mississippi, Clayton (Meg) Marshall from Port Orchard WA, Shannon (Jessica) Boykin from Hurley Mississippi, and granddaughter; Carly (Blake) Kelley from Biloxi Mississippi. 12 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He served in the U.S. Army, and is a Korean war veteran. He retired from Singing River Electric. He worked there for 30 years and maintains those friendships until his passing. He loved working in his garden and cooking for his family. He also enjoyed his day on the river fishing and going to the houseboat with his best friend Cleo Graham. He spent days at his camp and on the sandbar at Cedar Creek with his kids and grand kids. He enjoyed holidays together with his family sitting around his bonfire talking and laughing. He is truly going to be missed and was well loved.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 9:30 am at Holder-wells Coastal Funeral Home, 12800 Hwy 613, Moss Point, MS 39562 until the 10 am Funeral Hour. Internment will follow in the Serene Memorial Garden.
