Mr. Jessie Harrison Farmer, 77, of Big Point, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
He was born on November 10, 1944, in Pascagoula to Calvin Farmer and Minnie Rush Furby.
Mr. Farmer was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He served in Vietnam and was awarded The Vietnamese Service Medal, The National Defense Medal, and The Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. "Once a Marine, always a Marine."
He was previously employed for 15 years at Estabrook Motor Co., as a Service Advisor, and at Rust Engineering building smokestacks. He was a member of Lilly Orchard Baptist Church and enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher.
Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and Pete Furby, mother-in-law, Dorinda Cook, and sister-in-law, Jean Cook Canaday.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Shirley Farmer, and his children, Redell (Michael) Hohman, Paul (Amy) Ezell, John (Pat) Ezell, and David Ezell. Grandchildren, Jordan Farmer, Daniel (Chrystal) Ezell, Summer Ezell, David Ezell, and Lindsey Ezell. Great-grandchildren, Annabelle Ezell, and Kaitlynn Ezell. Brother, William Furby, and half-brother, Rev. C.A. Farmer. Nieces and nephews, John Furby, Billy Furby, Theresa Murphy, and Timmy Murphy, great-niece, Starla Murphy.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS., 39563. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ricky Colvin officiating. Serving as pallbearers; Steve Chambers, Kevin Dearman, David Finch, Mike Fix, Carey Williams, and Lee Russell. Honorary pallbearers; Paul Ezell, Willie Holmes, and Darryl Gunter. Burial will be at Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562
