Jewel Olene Daugherty, known to her family as Nana, was born March 16,1951 and gained her victory June 19,2025. She is preceded in death by her father, Gray Davis (paw paw) and mother, Edna Davis (maw maw), two brothers, Ted Davis and Joe Davis, one sister in law Wanda Davis, and one grandson Nate Daugherty. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Claude Daugherty (paw paw), three sons Ricky (Kim), Jimmy (Suzie), and Kevin (Jennifer), ten grandchildren, Shelbbie (Darius), Brandon, Andrew, Ashleigh (Julian), Isaiah, Conner (Maggie), Hunter, Cole, Logan, and Evan, and two great grandsons Kaden and Alex. She is also survived by two sisters, Fran and Bobby (Bruce) and two brothers, Rayford and Buddy in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Nana was a proud teacher's assistant for multiple years both at South Elementary School and Arlington Elementary School. She also worked in retail at Jerry Lee's and Walmart.

Other than her children and grandchildren, and her 55 years of marriage, she has been proudly connected with Woodlawn Baptist Church. Her family began attending when Woodlawn was still meeting in the National Guard Armory in the early 1950s. She and Claude (paw paw) were both saved and baptized in 1971 soon after he returned from Vietnam.

Her best quote happened last week while she was in the hospital. As she was making the tough decision of another round of rehab or going home on hospice, she said for all the family to hear, "I'm so glad Jesus saved me".

Visitation will be Monday, June 23rd, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church at 2919 Old Mobile Hwy Pascagoula, MS 39567. Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, 12:00 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church also with Bro. Sidney Davis and Ricky Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at Holder Wells - Coastal Cremations at 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562 .
