Our daddy gained his wings March 19, 2026 at the age of 90 years old. He loved his savior JESUS CHRIST. He worked as a pipefitter and raised his five children. Reading his Bible and listening to his CDs was his favorite pastime.
He was a veteran and served in the Army in the Korean War. He was known as the "waterboy."
He was born to Rebecca Mae Barker and Rev. John E. Rogers in 1935.
He was preceded in death by his Son Steven M Rogers (Pam); the mother of his children Wanda M. Cowen; one brother Ronald Rogers; a grandson Davey F. Shivers Jr.
He is survived by his four children Patricia Shivers, Johnny Rogers (Glenda), Janice Reus (Seburn), Lavelva Tucker; brother Carl Luis Rogers; sister Judy Earline Brower; six grandchildren Jimmie D. Shivers, Nathan E Tucker (Amber), Matthew Reus (Whitney), Ashley S. Jordan (Jay), Dakota Reus (Tammy), Amanda N McNeil (Scotty); and eleven great grandchildren.
We want to give "Hospice of Light" and "Deaconess Home Health" a very special thank for the love and compassion that they gave to daddy and to us. Extra special thanks to Rhonda Baskin R. N., Johness C.N.A., Danesha C.N.A., Emily Dixon S.W., and Chaplain Mr. Rogers. Daddy will be missed by many family and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25 at 9am followed by memorial service at 10am at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home Moss Point, MS 39562.
