**In Loving Memory of Jimmy H. Spicer**
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Jimmy H. Spicer, 81, of Moss Point, Mississippi. Jimmy passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Born on June 3, 1943, in Pascagoula, MS, Jimmy lived a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a heart full of love for those closest to him.
Jimmy was the life of every party, the kind of man whose infectious laugh could fill any room. His children and grandchildren eagerly awaited the chance to share a new joke or story with him, knowing that no matter how silly, he would laugh as if it were the funniest thing he had ever heard. His sense of humor was only matched by his love for storytelling-especially this tales of "bloody bones" and "the taped up man" that he spun around the campfire, terrifying yet thrilling the kids in the family.
Creativity was one of Jimmy's many gifts. He could turn a napkin and a plastic straw into the most entertaining face costumes, and he always had a game in mind to make any gathering more fun. For Jimmy, there was never a dull moment. Whether it was making people laugh, or simply enjoying time with those he loved, he made everything memorable.
A passionate collector, Jimmy's heart belonged to his Model T cars. He and his beloved wife, Claudette, would embark on road trips, touring the country with friends in these vintage treasures. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in his work as a top-notch welder-people traveled from far and wide just to see Jimmy work his magic on what seemed impossible tasks.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Syble and Robert Sr., his brother, Robert Jr., his sister Eutaska Tew and his loving wife of 53 years, Claudette. He leaves behind a brother; Howard (Diane) Spicer and a legacy of love and joy that will never be forgotten, including his devoted children: Angela Thompson, Sherry (Steve) Farabee, Jeffrey Pacey, Deborah (Bill) Graham-Browning, and Rhonda (Doug) Philyaw.
His grandchildren, who were the light of his life, will carry forward his memory: Christopher Farabee, Stephanie (Justinn) Smathers, Amber (Matt) Boutwell, Candace (Ron) Ruland, Ryan Farabee, Lauren (Chris) Burns, Matthew (Katelynn) Philyaw, Andrew Philyaw, Rebekah Pacey, Bradley Farabee, Noah Pacey, and Nate Philyaw. His great-grandchildren, Olivia Ragsdale, Lily Smathers, Leanna Smathers, Avery Boutwell and the newest addition, Benson Burns, were the latest jewels in his crown, and he loved each of them with a fierceness that could never be measured.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Holder Wells on Main Street in Moss Point, MS. The visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the service following at 3:00 p.m. We invite all who knew and loved Jimmy to join us as we remember a man who brought laughter, love, and light into every life he touched.
Though he is no longer with us, Jimmy's spirit will live on in the stories we share, the laughter he inspired, and the deep love he left behind.
