Joan M. Waddell, 75 of Lucedale, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her home in Lucedale.
She was born on May 16, 1948, to Harold H. and Mattie Doris Moore in Mississippi.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Waddell, nephew, Christopher Sward, and niece, Jeannette Larson Alexander.
Survivors are her daughter, Stephanie (Joe) Hollingsworth, two grandchildren, Amanda Hollingsworth, and Cody Hollingsworth. Her sister, Jane (Jeff) Hall, and niece, Malinda (Steven) McCool. And numerous cousins.
Joan was a faithful member and volunteer of Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Lucedale, Mississippi. During her working career, she was a bookkeeper for Coast Building Supply and Lawson's Ace Hardware. Joan also enjoyed cross-stitching, crocheting, and gardening.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at Holder Wells Main Street Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Holder Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Brashier officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Joe Hollingsworth, Cody Hollingsworth, David Thomas, Anthony Jenkins, Mike Cotton, and Mike Hilbun. The Honorary Pallbearer is Jeff Hall. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, MS.
