John Bowman, a native of Chambersburg, PA. and resident of Moss Point, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012. He was 94.
Mr. Bowman was a US Navy Veteran having served in WWII aboard the US Cofer(DE-208/APD-62). He was a proud member of The American Legion of Jackson County Post 160. He grew up on the family farm and was an avid gardner and loved growing fresh vegatables. Mr. Bowman was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Point. He truly loved his church family and was very appreciative for their love and support he recieved throughout his life. He will be truly missed by his loving family and many friends.
Mr. Bowman is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Kocon Bowman.
Survivors include his daughters Christine(Jay) Smith and Jeanette(Jerry) Presley; Grandchildren Brian(Cassie) Smith, Victoria Smith, Steven(Christina) Presley, and Jacqueline(Jeff) Utley; Great-Grandchildren Carolyn Smith, Courtney Smith, Aidan Smith, Presley Utley, and Kenadee "Kenna" Utley; Beloved niece Christine(Junior) Carbaugh and family.
The family of Mr. Bowman would like to express a very loving and heart-felt thanks to his caregiver Mrs. Sara Tait and her family, for all the loving and compassionate care given.
Visitation will be Friday, May 18, 2012 from 2pm until 3pm at First Baptist Church of Moss Point. Funeral services will follow at 3pm with Reverend Michael Perry officiating.
Interment will be in Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, MS.
Full Military Honors shall be rendered at the gravesite by The American Legion of Jackson County Post 160.
