Mr. John Riley Wells, 74, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed from this life Monday, July 6, 2020, in D'Iberville.
He was born August 13, 1945, in Kreole, MS., to Orie Hurlen Wells and Nettie Olivia Morie Wells.
Mr. Wells was a single man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He liked sports of all types and loved to just get in the car and go sight-seeing.
John retired from Ingalls shipbuilding after 40 years of service.
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vernita Davis, brother, Hurlen Wells, sister in law, Michelle "Mickie" Wells, 4 brothers in law, John Bill Davis, Robert Crowley, Thomas Bellanca, and Billy Garner.
Survivors include one son; Jonathan Poole Wells, sisters, and brothers; Lynette Crowley, Mary Virginia Wells, Clyde (Liz) Wells, Alvina Bellanca, Betty Garner, Jimmy Dell Wells, and sister in law, Joanna Wells. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family wishes to thank Carol Redmond and her staff at Redmond Place, and Saad Hospice for the excellent care given to their brother.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020, from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. at W.R. Clark Cemetery in Moss Point, MS., with Rev. Wendell Stork officiating.
