Johnny Mazingo, age 85, of Moss Point, Mississippi, peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Born on August 3, 1939, Johnny lived a life filled with love and dedication. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gillian Mazingo; his parents, Johnny Mazingo Sr. and Emma Summers Mazingo; his brother, Douglas Mazingo; his cherished nephew, Timothy Glenn Mazingo; his daughter-in-law, Susie Martin Mazingo; and his granddaughter, Becky Mazingo Richardson.
Johnny's legacy will be carried on by his daughter, Jill Keebeler Sullivan (Brian) of Moss Point, MS; his sister, Linda (Don) Eaker of Pascagoula, MS; his son, Nigel E. Keebler of West Mifflin, PA; his son, Andrew J. Keebler (Leslie) of Munhall, PA; his son, Richard W. Keebler (Diann) of West Mifflin, PA; his daughter, Gillian A. Sullivan (Brian D. Sullivan Sr.) of Helena, MS; his son, Bruce Mazingo (Tonya) of Helena, MS; his son, Michael Mazingo (Melesa) of Escatawpa, MS; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who held him dear.
As a skilled mechanic, Johnny poured his heart into his work and found joy in the outdoors through camping, bowling, and fishing. A true craftsman, he relished tackling mechanical projects and earned the affectionate title of "Liberty Man" during his time running the Liberty Bowl in the 1970s. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also had the honor of being a past King of the Jackson County Bowlers Association.
Family and friends are invited to join us for visitation on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Holder Wells Funeral Home, located at 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS. We will come together to celebrate Johnny's remarkable life during a service at 7:30 PM, officiated by Eddie Mackie. Your presence will honor his memory and the significant impact he had on all of us.
