Mr. Joseph David (J.D.) Cothran Jr age 85 passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022.
J. D. was born at home in Kreole, MS on December 6, 1936.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Sally Cothran; three sisters, Dorothy Hill, Betty McWater and Bookie Ross.
He leaves behind his loving companion Shirley Schmitz; two children; Darlene Taylor of Grand Bay; Billy Cothran of Wade; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachael) Taylor and Christy Taylor, both of Grand Bay.
J. D. was a lifetime resident of Jackson County, Ms. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a cabinet maker by trade. In the late years of his life, he became a truck driver. He enjoyed the driving and seeing different parts of the country.
He was a faithful member of Ridglea Heights Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Ridglea Heights Baptist church 12601 Highway 613 Moss Point, MS 39562. The funeral service will follow at 12:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Steve Cirlot officiating. Interment will conclude at Serene Memorial Gardens.
