Mr. Kenneth Jay Morgan 83, of Pascagoula, MS passed away on August 5,2020 at his home.
Born May 9, 1937, to Odus P. and Dora Melynda Morgan of Columbus, MS. Ken was the youngest of six brothers and sisters.
Coach Morgan graduated from S.D. Lee High School in Columbus. He then continued his education at Mississippi State University. He earned his B.S. of Education in 1965 and then began his coaching career the same year at Moss Point High School. While at Moss Point, he was the head baseball coach, assistant football coach and the head football coach at Magnolia Junior High until 1974. In 1975, he began teaching in the Pascagoula School District where he found his passion for coaching girls softball. He began the fast pitch softball program. While teaching with the Pascagoula School District, Coach Morgan earned his Master of Education in 1986 at William Carey University.
As a coach he earned the nickname "Big Boy" and retired in 1999 after 33 years. However, after retiring he continued to sub with the Pascagoula and Ocean Springs school districts for 15 additional years.
Ken was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula, where he served as an ordained elder. He also assisted with the men's breakfast and served many summers as the recreation leader for vacation bible school.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Odus P. and Dora Melynda Morgan. His brothers and sisters AC(Mae) Morgan, Eldon (Sarah) Morgan, Jewel Morgan, Pete(Mary Faye) Morgan, Juanita Morgan and niece Bette Jean Doggett.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Kay Reynolds Morgan. Son Mark (Sheryl) Morgan of Bremerton, WA, daughter Melynda(Ted) Hunt of Port Orchard, WA, daughter Mandie(Justin) Lucas of Pascagoula, MS, son Tyler(Danielle) Morgan of Pascagoula, MS,
Five granddaughters Kristy Bailey Bourn, Kelcey Morgan, Whitney (Ryan) Arndt, Cori Ottak and Alyiah Marie Morgan,one grandson Morgan Scott Lucas
Ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday August 9,2020 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Matt Mitchell officiating.Burial following in Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic facemask and social distancing will be required at the church and graveside.
