Mr. Larry Edward Snipes 67, of Barton, MS passed away on February 14,2019 in Barton. Mr. Snipes was born on October 17, 1951 in Jackson County, MS. He grew up in Moss Point, MS and later married Linda Jones and they moved to Lucedale. He retired from International Paper Company in Moss Point after 32 years. Then he returned to work in July of 2001 at Mead Westvaco in Evadale, TX and Temple Inland/International in Orange, TX. He retired in 2015. He was a member of Barton Baptist Church and a he was member of the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He cherished his family and loved spending time with them. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, he also enjoyed raising and attending to his cattle.
He is preceded in death by his father Harry, his mother Lula Mae Snipes Gilbert and his father-in-law Wilton (Tunker) Jones.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Linda Jones Snipes, his children Chris (Valeria) Snipes, Carey (Chris) Rouse, and Angelia (Donald) Turner. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Samantha (Jacob) Bush, Caleb Rouse, Emily Snipes, Carson Snipes, Jesse Snipes, Cade Turner, Bryson Turner, his great grandchildren Camdyn Bush, Eli Bush, Kendall Bush, his sister Suzanne Snipes, his mother-in-law Louise Jones, his brother-in-law Robert "Bob" (Sharon) Jones and his sister-in-law Ann Hudson. Other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday February 18,2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Griffin cemetery in Moss Point.
