Obituary

Goodbyes are never easy. After a six year long battle with Alzheimer's, Lynette Olivia Wells Crowley left her earthly bondage on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Born April 20, 1935 to Orie and Nettie Wells of Moss Point, MS. She attended Moss Point High School and then met and married the love of her life, the late William Robert Crowley. They were married for 65 years and enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Together, they raised three children; James Robert (Angela) Crowley, Pensacola; Dianne Crowley Combest, Vancleave; and William Michael (Gayla) Crowley, Moss Point.

Lynette loved nothing more than being the loving MawMaw of James "JJ" Crowley Jr (Amber), Shane (Leslie) Crowley, Shannon (Mike) Allman; Casey (Ryen) Combest, Katie (Shawn) Shiraz and Kayla (Robert) Gardner; Chasity (Shane) Mason, Ashley (Rick) Hilsabeck and Paige (Dustin) Delmas.
She was so proud to be the great-MawMaw to Taylor (Nick) Franzone, Blake (Emily) Crowley, Addison, Clark, Patrick and Wells Combest; Louie, Jude and Owen Gardner; Laila Shiraz; Silas and Amos Mason; Sadie and Maggie Hilsabeck; and Emery Delmas and bonus great-granddaughter, Kamdyn Clark. She was honored with two great-great granddaughters Maci and Madilyn Franzone. See how all of this started because two people fell in love!!

In addition to her husband, Lynette is preceded in death by her parents Orie and Nettie Wells; brothers Hurlen, Clyde (Liz) and John Wells and sister Vernita (Bill) Davis; infant grandsons Jonathan Clay Crowley and Jerod Michael Crowley.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Lynette is survived by her siblings; brother, Jimmy Dale Wells (Mickie, dec), sisters, Virginia Parker, Alvina Blanca (Tom, dec)and Betty Lou Garner, (Bill, dec) and sister-in-law Joanna Wells.

Most everyone who ever remembers skating at Escatawpa's Roberts Skating Rink will remember Lynette as the person who sold them a ticket, handed out the skates and was the DJ spinning the tunes. We can all remember her announcing "clear the floor, clear the floor! It's time for couple's skate!" She worked there over 25 years.

Family will honor Lynette on Friday, July 5, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00, with the service immediately following at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home. Internment will be at Serene Memorial Gardens.

Bro Gene Emswiler and Bro Brian Crane will officiate the service with JJ Crowley, Blake Crowley, Shane Crowley, Mike Allman, Casey Combest and Shane Mason serving as pallbarers. Honorary pallbarers will be Robert Gardner, Rick Hilsabeck, Dustin Delmas and Shawn Shiraz.
Lynette's family extends the deepest heartfelt appreciation to the excellent staff of Enhabit Hospice and her caregivers Tasha, Roshetta and Diedra.
