Mabron "Ray" Dixon, 78, of Pascagoula, MS, received his ticket into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He is rejoicing in his long-awaited reunion with Marie, his beloved wife and angel.
Ray was born June 28, 1944, to Riley M and Ora Lee Dixon in Neely, MS. He was a hardworking and principled man with a great sense of humor. He was as real and straight forward as one can be. He was always excited and proud of other's accomplishments and was quick to tell you. He was an amazing gardener and cook. No one could beat his tomatoes or potato salad. He had a passion for football and was a proud American. He loved unconditionally and was loved by so many. He was treasured as a husband, dad, brother and friend but his greatest joy was being "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Marie Dixon; son, Joey Dixon; daughter, Twyla Newbill; father, Riley Dixon, mother and stepfather, Ora Lee and Marcus Hinton; sister, Retha Helton; and brother, Ken Dixon.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jimmy (Michelle) Hammond; his daughter, Roxann (Chuck) Lightbourne; grandchildren, Chassidy Hammond and Kristy (Rusty) Rawls; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, C.R. (Carrie) Dixon; nephew Eddie Dixon; sister, Faye Hill; and many other friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
