Margaret Elizabeth (Wright) Bullock was born February 13, 1926 to John William Wright and Emma Mae (Sellers) Wright in Jones County, Mississippi. She passed from this life on September 7, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
In 1946 she married George E. Bullock. They had five children and were longtime residents in Escatawpa, MS.
In September of 1950 she received the Holy Ghost and was baptized In Jesus Name. She was a long time member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where Elder J.L. Lee is the pastor. In January of 2023, she moved to Vidor, Texas where she attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She enjoyed cooking for the family, especially for birthdays, Thanksgiving and other family gatherings. Each family member had their favorite dish that she prepared and these recipes are still cherished today. Even in her 99th year she lived alone and still cooked and made her own cornbread.
She loved the Bible and had read through the Bible each year for many years. Every family member has their memory of Mamaw telling them how to be saved and live for God. Her faith in God was the center of her life. She prayed for the entire family through the years. She was an accomplished seamstress and made clothes for all the granddaughters and great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George E. Bullock, her brothers, George W. (Jack) Baker of Picayune, Mississippi, Johnnie M. Wright of Laurel, Mississippi, and Willie Eugene Wright of Michigan. Her daughters, Joan Hateley of Stantonville, Tennessee, Donna Jones of Escatawpa, Mississippi and Nan Bullock also of Escatawpa, and great-great grandson Frankie Parrot.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce Bullock (Vanessa) of Hurley, Mississippi and John Bullock (Pamela) of Vidor, Texas. Grandchildren Russell Jones (Lori), April Kennedy (Clint), Anthony Bullock, Bethany McGuire (Chase), Rebekah McGuire (Logan) and Brittany White (James), fifteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Bullock will be held at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 3705 Old Mobile Hwy, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39581, on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm. The funeral will be o?ciated by Pastor J. L. Lee. Interment will be at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, MS.
