Margaret Stone DuBois, born in Kreole, Mississippi on December 27, 1947, departed this life on July 16, 2026. She was a devoted wife, caring mother, dedicated grandmother, and steadfast friend, leaving behind a legacy of strength, steady devotion, and heartfelt commitment to those she held dear. Her life was defined by her caring nature and the comfort she brought to those around her.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Buck” Stone and Willie Mae “Eggie” Stone, as well as her sister, Carolyn “Kacky” Stegall. Their memories remained close to her throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Roy DuBois, with whom she built a lifetime grounded in dedication and mutual support and love. Together they created a family that was her greatest source of pride.
Margaret is survived by her children, Shawn DuBois (Suzanne) and Krista Caron (Jeffrey). She was a treasured grandmother to: Jacob DuBois, Owen DuBois (Bryanna), Emma DuBois, Dakota Caron, Lacy Caron, and James Caron. She was further blessed with a great‑grandchild, Halli Lane, who added new joy and warmth to her later years.
She is additionally survived by her brother, Dorian Stone. Margaret also held deep affection for her extended family of nieces and nephews and their families, each of whom she loved and kept close in her heart.
Margaret lived a life centered around her family. As a committed Navy wife, she dedicated herself to supporting her husband’s service and providing a stable, caring home for their children. In her later years, she embraced her new “professional” role, traveling across the country with Ernie to attend her grandchildren’s many activities. Whether it was little league, youth baseball, high school sports, cheer competitions, or band performances, Margaret was there, showing her support with enthusiasm and genuine pride. These travels became some of her fondest adventures.
Margaret’s life reflected devotion and generosity. Her presence will be missed deeply, yet her influence and spirit remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A memorial service in honor of Margaret will be held in the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home on Friday, July 24,2025. 12800 Highway 613 Moss Point, Mississippi 39562. A Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and a Service to start at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Orange Grave Cemetery in Pascagoula.
