It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Martha "Carolyn" Taylor, who gracefully departed this world at the age of 77 on November 20, 2025. Born on June 16, 1948, to her loving parents, Melburn Lee Mills and Earcel Earlene Kirby, Carolyn was a beacon of warmth and kindness to those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Chandler Taylor; her beloved parents, Earcel and Mel Mills; and her cherished brothers, Joe Mills and Marlen Mills.
Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her son, Darius Taylor (Jeana); her grandchildren, David Ladnier (Shelby) and Samantha Richardson (Jeromy); and her adored great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Ladnier, Brooklynn Ladnier, Michael Ladnier, and Colton Richardson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Verna Mills, along with a host of other family members and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
A passionate quilter, Carolyn found joy in crafting intricate patterns that often reflected her vibrant personality. She deeply cherished the moments spent with her family, particularly her grandkids and great-grandkids, who brought endless light and laughter into her life. Carolyn held a bachelor's degree in special education and dedicated her career to teaching, where her compassion and strength inspired countless students. A remarkable woman, she lived life on her own terms and loved her great-grandchildren with a fierce devotion, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
