Mary Lucindy Bates, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away on October 17, 2026, in Pascagoula. She was born on November 9, 1962, in Pascagoula, and remained closely connected to the place she called home throughout her life.

Cindy will be remembered as a very nice and generous woman whose kindness touched those around her. She found special joy in going away from the city to her family camp, where she loved being in nature and looking out at the water. Those quiet places brought her peace and reflected the gentle spirit so many knew and loved. She was also a member of Arlington Heights Baptist Church, where her faith was part of the life she lived each day. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her nieces and nephews, who were like her children and held a deeply cherished place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Edna Bates. She is remembered by her brothers, Thomas Bates (Samantha Bosarge) and James Bates (Sami Gray). She also leaves behind a loving circle of nieces and nephews: Jamie and Allen Tubb, Cassie and Ronnie Hughes, Jimmy Bates, Max Bates, Jerrod Bates, Clay Bates, Emily Bates, and Sabrina and Clint Weeks; as well as 13 Great Nieces and Nephews. Cindy's love for her family was evident in the time she shared with them, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her and were blessed by her warmth, generosity, and care.

Visitation will be held on October 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Holder Wells Coastal Chapel, 12800 Hwy 613, Moss Point, MS 39562. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Holder Wells Coastal Chapel.

Mary Lucindy Bates will be remembered with love for her gentle heart, her generosity, her devotion to family, and the happiness she found in nature, faith, and time spent with those she treasured most.
