It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary "Mickey" Lorraine Smith Coletta on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mickey was born on July 23, 1929, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to George J. Smith and Margaret McMahon Smith.
Mickey spent her formative years in Tarrytown, New York, and graduated from Irvington High School, where she was actively involved in a variety of pursuits.
On November 28, 1953, Mickey married Sergio "Sarge" Coletta, the love of her life. Together, they built a family and raised five children: George A. Coletta, Paul S. Coletta (Corinne), Missy (Ray) Williamson, Richard Coletta (Lisa), and Peter S. Coletta (Susan). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Smith 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, George J Smith and Margaret McMahon Smith, her beloved husband Sergio "Sarge" Coletta, her brother Cromwell Smith, and grandson Robert Williamson
Mickey was an avid bridge player, known for her skill and sportsmanship. She participated in numerous bridge clubs and was often sought after as a substitute, a testament to her reputation and camaraderie.
She was also dedicated to the Singing River Hospital Auxiliary, where her contributions were recognized when she was named Auxiliary of the Quarter. During her time there, she held several offices and was known for her commitment and enthusiasm. She was a member of Saint Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Moss Point ,MS.
The family would like to thank the staff at Somerby of Mobile , and at The Retreat Hospice by SAAD , for the care they gave to Mickey.
