Mary Simpson Johnson, 84, of Pascagoula, MS., passed from this life on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, in Pascagoula. She was born on August 29, 1936, in Dayton, OH., to George Simpson and Evelyn Nelson Simpson Morgan. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula and a member of the Legion of Mary. She retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 36 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marshall "Mac" Morgan, Brother, Billy Mack Sullivan, son-in-laws, Ricky Hollis and Gene Locke, Grandsons David Johnson, and Logan Klossner; and granddaughter, Jodi Hollis.
She is survived by her children, Kenyon Bryant Johnson III,(Ronda), Southside, AL., Russell S. Johnson, SR., (Mary), Hokes Bluff, AL., Sheryl Hollis, Pascagoula, MS., and Kerri Locke, (Jeremy Streeb), Pascagoula, MS.
Grandchildren, Richard Johnson, Chris (Sara) Hollis, Lesley (Josh) Hairell, Hannah Pittman, Tabatha (Michael Willard)Johnson, Tanya (Kyle Goosby) Klossner, Leighanna (Kolby) Preston, Eric (Jordan) Hollis, Steve Johnson, Heather (Chris) Noah, Joey (Sandy) Niamon, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS. from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.
