Obituary

Mary M. Moak of Escatawpa MS departed this life on November 2, 2022 following a brief illness. She was born May 23, 1935 in Greene County MS to Mr. Chester Harris and Willie Mae Merritt Evans. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, aunt and sister and her family will forever miss her presence in their lives. She attended Wade High School where she was active in school organizations. Mary was a decades long member of East Moss Point Baptist Church where she volunteered for many church functions and organizations. She was a trained artist studying under various instructors and enjoyed sharing her paintings with others. She loved and cared for her family tremendously and enjoyed preparing holiday dinners for them to enjoy while spending time together.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward Moak; and her siblings Audrey Evans Broome, Opal Evans Gill, Alton Evans, Alvin Evans, Ruth Evans Hyatt and Georgia May Bexley.

She will be dearly missed and is survived by her sons: Terry (Tammie) Moak of Gautier and Josh Moak of Escatawpa; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and relatives.

Pallbearers will be: Josh Moak, Eddie Howard, Shannon Jackson, Craig Drummond, Chad Wilson and Benji Dees.

Visitation will be Saturday November 5, 2022 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at East Moss Point Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary with Bro. Ray McCorkle and Bro. Richard Crews officiating. Burial will follow in Serene Gardens cemetery.
