Mary Agnes Pierce Cowart, 88, of Franklin Creek passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022.

She was born on June 29, 1934 in Orange Grove, MS. Mrs. Cowart retired from International Paper Company. She was actively involved in her community over the years through the Franklin Creek Homemakers Club, the Finnish Lutheran Historical group and as a member of Franklin Creek Baptist Church. Those that knew her always looked forward to a whipping cream or chocolate pound cake at times when they were most needed.

Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband Herbert, her parents Preston and Helmi Pierce, her infant daughter Juanita Agnes Cowart, and her brother Eugene (Betty) Pierce.

She is survived by her children, Woodie (Susan) Cowart of Moss point, MS, Amanda (Derek) France of Ramstein AFB, Germany, Jason (Jamie) Cowart of Pascagoula, MS, her grandchildren Hannah (Michael) McNair, Kelsey (Andrew Noorman) Cowart, Erin (John Bocinsky) France, Madeline France, Clara France, Jacob Cowart, Jillian Cowart, her great-grandchildren Phoebe and Samuel McNair, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Cowart will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Creek Baptist Church, 11505 Independence Rd., Moss Point, MS. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will be at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point. Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to Franklin Creek Baptist Church.
