Mary "Evelyn" Sturgis
(July 27,1922 - July 19, 2024)

Mary "Evelyn" Sturgis was born in Purvis Mississippi on July 27, 1922, to Cora and Grover
McNabb. She passed peacefully in the morning hours of Friday, July 19, 2024, surrounded by
family members. She was married to Jesse C. Sturgis from December 1941 until his death in
April 2002. She joins her husband (the love of her life) and her three daughters: Shela Sturgis,
Marsha Sconza, and baby Paula in Heaven.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister,
aunt, and a friend to many. She was a devout Christian, a prayer warrior, and follower of Christ.
She was a member of Escatawapa Baptist Church for thirty plus years where she served in
many capacities. She loved her family and Jesus most of all. Some of her final words were, "I
love my family so very much!"

She is survived by her only living child, Angela S. Robinson, her five grandchildren: Paula
(Mike) O'Donegan, Alysse (Jimmy) Stein, Daron Gilliam, Jessica Gilliam, and Jered King.
She is survived by ten great grandchildren: Hunter O'Donegan, Allyson (Jerit) Perilloux, Hannah Stein, Haleigh (Jerry) Vaughan, Cassidy (Steven) Baudean, Maleigh (Brandon Ballard) Penton, Kyle (Kristen) Gilliam, Claire King, Darah Gilliam, Logan Heathcoe, & Hillary O'Donegan. Along with six great-great grandchildren (Emery, Cash, Mackenna, Alice, Jensen, and Dakota).

She will be missed by all that loved her, but knowing she's rejoicing with Jesus and loved ones
that passed on before her, brings comfort. Rest in the arms of Jesus sweet Angel.
