Mrs. Maureen Lorraine (Hart) Jones 59, was born December 4, 1950 in Mobile, Alabama to the union of the late Marvin C. and Ruth Hart of Pascagoula. With the exception of her first few months, she lived her entire life in Pascagoula until 1:51pm Friday, July 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family she was called to her eternal home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Following her graduation in 1968 from Pascagoula High School Maureen married her sweetheart and soulmate, Philip D. Jones of the Pecan community, east Jackson County on September 19, 1969. Philip preceded her in death January 22, 2006.
Maureen worked as a dental assistant starting with the late Dr. Thompson moving on to Dr. Cunningham and retiring with Dr. Halbrook with a combined service of over thirty years.
Maureen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Jennifer Jones and the joy of her life, her two grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Jones all of Pascagoula. Other survivors include her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Carolyn Hart of Vancleave, Robin and Mary Hart of Moss Point; sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Jimmy Akins of Vancleave; mother-in-law, Chap Stokes, sisters-in-law, Dianne Cauley, Lucy Ward and Lanette Lloyd all of the Pecan community; nieces and nephews, Christy and Jake Lakes of Vancleave, Katie and Jonathan McMillian of Fort Dix, New Jersey, Michael Hart of San Antonio, Texas, Daniel and Ashley Hart of Vancleave and Benjamin Hart of Moss Point.
Visitation will be Monday, July 12, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10:00am from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Miller of Pine Lake Baptist Church in Vancleave officiating. Interment will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Daniel Hart, Benjamin Hart, Jake Lakes, Jonathan McMillian and Adam Shaw.
The family of Mrs. Jones would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Light for their love and kindness shown not only to our loved one but to each and every one of us also. A sincere thank you to Rev. Brian Miller for his care and kindness at our time of need.
