Micheal G. (Mike) Mooney passed away on October 19,2022 in Pascagoula, MS.

He joins his parents in death, Bob and Gail Mooney and his long time companions Tina and Angel.

After obtaining a degree in Electronics, he enlisted in the US Air Force where he was the only honor student in his Wideband Communication career field. While serving his country he earned an additional Electronics degree.

During his nine year service, he enjoyed six years overseas visiting and/or living in Germany, England, Belgium, Spain (Operation El Dorado Canyon), Luxembourg and the Azores. He discovered he had a knack for writing maintenance procedures for his equipment, a great many of which became the standard throughout the Air Force.

His military career concluded at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana providing satellite communications for the USAF B-52 fleet during Operation Desert Shield / Storm. Through his career, he enjoyed training new personnel on installing, tuning, troubleshooting and repairing a wide array of communication equipment.

He later worked at US Steel in Fairfield, Alabama for 26 years where he mostly served as the head bench repair technician in the Caster Electronics shop.

He is survived directly by his his sister and brother in law, Sandra and Lance Upshaw. There are also many friends, relatives and co-workers throughout Alabama and Mississippi as well Europe.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday October 25,2022 at Serene Gardens cemetery 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562.
