Her family owned and operated the W. H. Sluss Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio.
After graduation from Louisville High School, Nancy became employed by Nationwide Insurance in Canton, Ohio, where she remained for ten years.
After moving to Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1970, she began working at Ingalls Shipbuilding and retired from there after thirty-five years as a Senior Planner in the Pipe Department.
Nancy was a very unique individual who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was unselfishly devoted to her church and friends and was a giver with a heart of gold. The demeanor that she portrayed showed immense intelligence, extreme organization, quick wit, and delicate tact. The embodiment of her personality let you know she was nothing but real, no pretense, no sham, just real. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sumner Sluss, Sr and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Linder Sluss, a sister, Ruth Sluss Oberlin, one brother, Charles Sumner Sluss, Jr., and sister, Mary Helen Sluss.
