Nancy Kay Sluss was born in Stark County, Canton, Ohio, November 21, 1941, to Charles Sumner Sluss, Sr., and Elizabeth Linder Sluss. The life journey of this faithful servant ended peacefully in her home in Pascagoula, Mississippi on August 6, 2021, at the age of 79.
Her family owned and operated the W.H. Sluss Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio.
After graduation from Louisville High School, she attended The University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Then became employed by Nationwide Insurance in Canton, Ohio, where she remained for ten years.
After moving to Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1970, she began working at Ingalls Shipbuilding and retired from there after thirty-five years as a Senior Planner in the Pipe Department.
Nancy was a very unique individual who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was unselfishly devoted to her church and friends and was a giver with a heart of gold. The demeanor that she portrayed showed immense intelligence extreme organization, quick wit, and delicate tact. The embodiment of her personality let you know she was nothing but real, no pretense, no sham, just real. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sumner Sluss, Sr and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Linder Sluss; a sister Ruth Sluss Oberlin; one brother Charles Sumner Sluss, Jr.; and sister, Mary Helen Sluss; and nephew Roger Sluss.
She leaves treasured memories to her nieces: Judy Taranto (Brian), Katy, Texas; Helen Pankowski (Bill), TWP Washington, New Jersey; Kris DeWitt (Roger) Dellroy, Ohio; Terry Admonius (Al), Alliance, Ohio; Kay C Shimabukaro (Ron), Henderson, Nevada; Jo D Unkefer (David), East Rochester, Ohio; Peggy Sluss, N. Canton, Ohio; one nephew, Chuck Sluss (Cindy), Homeworth, Ohio.

A Celebration of Life and Happy Heavenly 80th Birthday will take place at The Gathering, Three Rivers Assembly of God, 15910 Highway 63, Moss Point, MS, Saturday, November 20, 2021, 1 p.m. – 3p.m. At 2 p.m. there will be a short program.
Nancy was a devoted supporter of Missions projects around the world. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be made to the African Church Building Project in her memory. A church is being built in her honor, and the ministry that she supported will be a vital, thriving work for years to come.
