Olen Richard Fore, 79, passed away on June 16, 2023, surrounded by his family. Olen was born at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, on May 5, 1944, to Joe and Velma Fore.
They later moved to Mississippi where Olen attended school. He later met and married Carol Lawrence and were married for 56 wonderful years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Donna McCardle, and grandchildren, Richard Fore, Jr., Calvin Elise, and Keegan McClarty.
Olen worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding for 40 years before retiring as a superintendent in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lawrence Fore, his son Richard Anthony (Jeannette) Fore, and grandsons, Gavin Sharp, Kaleb McCardle, and Jason Miller. Granddaughter, Jasmine Miller, 4 great-grandchildren, an aunt, numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, June 21, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS., 39563 The funeral will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 10 a.m. from the Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Albert Pendarvis officiating. Serving as pallbearers are; Tony Wilson, Jason Miller, Gavin Sharp, Kaleb McCardle, Tim Lawrence, and John Lawrence. Entombment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park mausoleum.
