Patricia Ann Clardy, 85, of Gautier passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 20, 2023. She was born to Lawrence and Bonnie Cherry in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 13, 1937.
She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and she was most proud of her family, her greatest treasure. Her favorite activity was spending time with her 8 children, 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She loved children of all ages and enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for the Pascagoula School District. She was also a huge Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed playing bingo with friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years William Gene Clardy, Sr., brothers Bill Cherry and Lawrence Cherry Jr., sister Helen Sobczak, son William Gene Clardy Jr., and daughters Donna Jean Carpenter and Deborah Louise Jones.
She is survived by sons Dwight Clardy (Kathy) of Nesbit and Tim Clardy (Melissa) of Niceville, FL, her daughters Ann Forester of Pascagoula, Cindy Huggins (Bruce) of Irvington, AL, Amy Rodgers of Fredericksburg, VA, daughter-in-law Ava Clardy of Moss Point, brother Frank Cherry of Memphis along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Coastal Chapel, 12800 Highway 613, Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. The procession to Serene Memorial Gardens Cemetery will follow the service.
