Dec 9, 1944 – Feb 8, 2021 - Mrs. Patricia Louise McCartney Yates (Patty Lou, Pete, Petey, Pat), age 76 passed away of natural causes at home and surrounded by her family. She was born in Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Harry F. McCartney and Opal Taulbee McCartney.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years; Thomas "Tommy" Yates and their three daughters, Geneverie "Genny" (Kennith) McClenic of Avalon Beach, FL, Karlotta "Karla" (Brentley) Phelps of Hurley, MS and Kelly (Brad) Dye of Escatawpa, MS; Grandchildren, Maylen McClenic, Tommie "TK" (John) Bergeman and Landon Phelps, her sisters June Leggett of NC, Kate Watts of OH, Debra Turnbull of OH, Sharon Trayler of OH, Sally Nelson of FL, Lola Counterman of TN, her brothers, Howard "Buddy" Watts of OH and Dennis Fox of FL and her very special niece Wendy Drummer (Donald) of TN. She is also survived by a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, all of which she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends loved her deeply and she will be forever missed by all
who knew her. Mrs. Yates retired from the Social Security Administration (Moss Point Branch). She was a member of Canaan Assembly of God in Wade, MS. She was steadfast and resolute in her Christian faith at all times.
The family would like to give special thanks to Rev. Rodney Forrest Coleman and the entire Coleman Family for their lifetime of love and care, all of the health care workers on the 4th floor CRC/Rehab of Singing
River Hospital and Hospice of Light.
The love, compassion and care shown to Mrs. Yates and her family will never be forgotten.
Visitation will held at Canaan Assembly of God on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. Rodney Forrest Coleman officiating.
