Ms. Patsy June Fortenberry 69, of Pascagoula, MS passed away on September 13,2021 in Pascagoula. She was born on June 24,1952 in Union, MS to Jack and Mary Wilkerson. Patsy has been a resident of Jackson County for most her of life. Patsy did much traveling, and lived in Germany, Slidell LA, and Huston TX.
Patsy's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. she never missed birthdays or holidays. It was always known that December 23rd was a national holiday in her home because she knew her whole family and all the grandchildren would be there. She shopped all year and was always too impatient to wait. She adored the great grandchildren most of all.
Any chance Patsy got she was at the casino. The casino was always Patsy's and Tracey's special place to go together. Whether she was winning big or losing it all she had a smile on her face the entire time and she was just happy to be there because she knew when they left she got to choose where they are.
Although what seemed like the odds where always against her, Patsy was always winning, she faced so many challenges in life that never slowed her down and it made her the most wonderful, beautiful, and strongest person on this Earth.
Preceded in death by her parents-Jack and Mary Wilkerson,Brother-Paul Wilkerson, Sister-Connie Sawyer, Brother-in-Laws Ervin Sawyer and Freeman Lightsey
She is survived by her daughter- Tracey (Johnny) Spicer, her sisters- Barbara (David) Cobb, Betty (Randy) Hall, Mary Ann Lightsey, Cathy (Patrick)Goff, her brothers Larry (Janie) Wilkerson and David Wilkerson.
Grandchildren Jonathon (Breana) Spicer, Joseph (Breanna) Spicer, Savannah "Susie" (Robert) Knott. Great grandchildren Levi, Waylon, and Walker. She will also be sadly missed by her companion of 20 years-Kenneth Allday
A visitation for Patsy will be Thursday September 16,2021 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, Mississippi 39563. A celebration of life service in her honor will begin at 3:00 pm from the chapel with Rev. Wendell Stork officiating.
