Patsy June "Pat" Robinson, 93, of Escatawpa, MS went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Pascagoula, MS. Patsy was born on October 23, 1931, in Escatawpa to the late Joseph and Willie Pearl Robinson.
After earning an undergraduate degree from LSU, Pat began her career as a naval officer. Most notably, she served during the Vietnam war on the USS Sanctuary (AH-17) hospital ship. After 20 years of service, she retired from the Navy at the rank of LCDR. She earned a master's degree from Michigan State University and continued her career as a microbiologist in several laboratories. Even in her ninth decade she was active in her church, crochet club and monthly ladies' birthday club.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her two younger brothers Robert Earl "Butch" Robinson and William Henry "Bill" Robinson. She is survived by her four nephews, Terrill Scott (Sandy) Robinson of Ocean Springs, MS, Hank (Melissa) Robinson of Baton Rouge, LA, James Joseph Robinson of Heathsville, VA, and Tony (Maria) Robinson of Bethel Springs, TN. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephew Kaylee Robinson, Britnee Robinson, and Hank Robinson III, along with special neighbors and friends. The family wants to thank Home Instead and the medical staff of Singing River Pascagoula Hospital for their compassionate care.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Escatawpa Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Vacik officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm at the church. Interment will be held at Robinson Cemetery in Escatawpa immediately following the funeral service.
