Prentiss F. Ward Jr., age 81 of Helena, Ms. died Saturday April 12, 2008 at his home. He was born June 13,1926 in Neshoba, Co.,Ms.and had retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a rigger. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Prentiss F. and Minnie Lee Ward Sr., his wife; Audrey Ward, one daughter; Brenda Rutland, four great grandchilden; Brittney, Hailey and Hunter Perry and Bailey Nichole Watkins. Survivors include two sons; Harold Poole of Grenta,La.,Charles Ward of Helena,Ms., four daughters and sons in laws; Linda Rice of Pascagoula, Ms., Stella(Willie)Rowell of Lucedale,Ms., Tommie(Red)Denton of Big Point,Ms.,and Lisa(Joe)Stewart of Escatawpa,Ms.; two brothers; James and Clinton Ward of Philadelphia,Ms.; three sisters, Eunice Henley, Audrey Sullivan and Shirley Henley all of Philadelphis, Ms.; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. A host of other relatives and friends. Vistation will be Monday April 14,2008 from 6pm until 9pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point,Ms. The funeral service will Tuesday April 15,2008 at 2:30pm, from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wendell Stork officiating. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa,Ms. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Pierce, Joe Stewart, Charles Rice, Bobby Joe Hurtt, Jimmy Ward Jr. and Frankie Tribble.
