Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Lawrence Stallings on December 15, 2023.

Richard was born to Charles and Walterine Stallings on July 5, 1957. Richard wore many titles: Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend and his most well-known title, Paw Paw.

Richard married his high school sweetheart, Marchie Ann Stallings on December 23, 1975. Their romance lasted more than 46 years and was blessed with 2 children, 4 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Richard earned the rank of Corporal in the US Marine Corp where he was a sniper who received the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

He was a hardworking and devoted family man who loved spending time with his family. He was a dedicated and loyal friend to many, always offering a helping hand.

Richard was a man of great faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known to love old western movies and television shows.

He will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and his unwavering devotion to his family and country. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Marchie, and sister, Barbara Edmonds. He is survived by his two children, Heath Stallings (wife, Ashley), and Jason Stallings (wife, Carrie); brothers, C.H. Stallings , Glenn Stallings, and Timothy Stallings; Grandchildren, Lexi Merzoyan (husband, Vaneek), Jason Stallings Jr. (wife, Katelyn), Tyler Stallings, Gabrielle Stallings; and great-grandchild Kaeson Merzoyan.

The funeral will be held at Holder Wells Coastal Chapel and Gardens at 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS with visitation at 1pm for family and 130 for friends followed by services at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior fund in his name.

The family would like to thank all those who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.

Richard will always be remembered and cherished by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
