Robert Boyd "Buddy" Smith, Sr. 78 passed from this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home in Helena. He was born May 20, 1937 in Avera, Mississippi. Mr. Smith was a man dedicated to his family and will be missed more than words can express. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Batson and Betty Elaine Roberts Smith; brothers and sisters, Kimac Smith, Edwin Smith, Edna Carraway, Nell Gunter, Libby Dunnam, Jane Pigford, Willa Rozeboom, and Elaine Richards. Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Carole Smith; son, Robert Boyd Smith, Jr. and wife Heather; daughters, Lisa Cowart and husband Bruce, Lori Allen and husband Jesse, Becky Robertson and husband Brad; brother, Jimmy Smith; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Tarvin, Michael and Andrea Cowart, David Cowart, Jesse Allen, Jr., Zachery Allen, Kyle Robertson, Philip Robertson, Mark Robertson, Jordan Smith, Makeila Smith, Lane Smith and Sarah Smith; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Allen, Emerson Tarvin; and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 1:00 until 2:00PM at Coastal Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Cowart and Rev. Brad Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens, Moss Point, Mississippi. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Smith's grandsons.
