Robert Wayne Hearty,75 years of age of Harleston, MS passed away peacefully surrounded by his friends and caretakers on Thursday July 23,2020. He was born March 9,1945 in Pascagoula, MS to the late Reverend John William Hearty and Lottie Mae Gibbons Hearty.
Robert graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1963 where he was a member of the Pascagoula High School Football Team. He continued his education at Perkinston Junior College graduating in 1965. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at the University of Southern Mississippi in1968. Robert was hired by International Paper Company in 1968 and retired as International Paper Company's Chemical Analyst.
Robert was an avid gardener and developed an expertise in growing day lilies. He grew many varieties of lilies and fruit trees at his home in Harleston, MS. Robert attended Wade Baptist Church. Robert loved his friends and caregivers and will be remembered as a sweet soul who loved life.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Rev. John H. Hearty and Lottie Mae Hearty.
A special thank you to Clara's Personal Care Home, Clara Sanford and staff and Cheyanne at Hospice of Light for loving Robert and taking such great care of him.
A graveside service for Robert will be on Monday July 27,2020 beginning at 10:00 am at Machpelah cemetery, in Pascagoula, MS with Reverend Gavin Vice officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Roberts favorite charity, St. Jude's Children Hospital, in his memory.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic social distancing and mask will be required at the graveside.
