Obituary

Mr. Robert Lee Switzer of the Grand Bay Community in Alabama passed into Eternal Life on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at his home in Grand Bay, Alabama.

He was born to Elmer and Lucy Switzer on April 10, 1939, in Moss Point, Mississippi. He graduated from Moss Point High School in 1957. He and his classmates enjoyed connecting monthly for lunch. He also enjoyed spending time at the Heritage House Restaurant in Moss Point, Mississippi, where he built lasting relationships with employees and patrons. He retired from the Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula, Mississippi, after over 25 years of service. As a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, he attended Grand Bay First Methodist Church. He was an avid farmer and grew the best pecans around! He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He loved going on family vacations. He was a hard worker and enjoyed eating, laughing, and soaking in his blessed life. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sister, Melva Huff, and brothers, Bernard Switzer and Dean Switzer.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Shirley Switzer, sons: Greg (Kathy) Switzer, Jeff (Cindy) Switzer, and Joey (Amy) Switzer. A sister, Hilda Gunter, and brother, Wayne (Janis) Switzer; grandsons: Sean (Marisa) Switzer, Joshua (Crystal) Switzer, Timothy Switzer, Jonathan (Claire) Switzer, Seth Switzer, and Zack (Olivia) Switzer; a granddaughter: Hannah (Ike) Dulin, one great-grandson: Collins Dulin, and two great-granddaughters; Delanie Switzer and Crystyn Short.

The Switzer family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for the care, love, and kindness you have shown us during this difficult time. Your support has been a source of strength and comfort.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grand Bay FUMC or Trinity Methodist Church (Gulfport, MS).

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS 39563, from 9:30 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Hour. Internment will follow at the Orange Grove Cemetery, 5627 Orange Grove Rd, Moss Point, MS 39562.
