We are deeply saddened to share that Rodney Gray Willis, age 82, of Moss Point, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his beloved home.
Rodney was born on April 25, 1943, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to Elmo and Ruby Willis. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Sandra Kay Privette, who was truly the love of his life. Raised in the Baptist tradition, Rodney dedicated himself to serving others throughout his varied career as an electrician, a fishing boat captain, and a member of the Coast Guard. He found immense joy in being on the water, indulging in his love for fishing and boating. In addition to these passions, he cherished riding motorcycles, tending to his yard, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Those who enjoyed his cooking can attest to his famous sloppy joes.
Rodney is now reunited with his beloved wife, Sandra Kay Willis, as well as his cherished grandchild, Sarah Hughes, and his devoted parents, Elmo and Ruby Willis.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his three children: Lynn Marcella Ward (Edward) of Moss Point, MS; Cathy Cornish (Mike); and Rodney "RJ" Callis. Furthermore, he is survived by four grandchildren: Ronnie Hughes, Christina Easler, Alan Willis, and Nichole Migues, along with fourteen great-grandchildren and one more on the way, ensuring his legacy of love continues.
We invite you to join us in honoring Rodney's life.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Holder Wells Coastal Funeral Home.
