Obituary

Roger McWhorter 70, of Big Point, MS passed away on April 3,2019 in Moss Point, MS. Mr. McWhorter was born on March 28,1949 in Albertville, AL. Mr. McWhorter served his country with pride and dedication with the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 17th Calvary. While serving with the 17th Calvary he helped to carry out missions in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star during his tour of duty.
He later became a proud and dedicated employee of Ingalls shipbuilding retiring in 2012 after 30 years of service
He enjoyed working on vehicles, riding his motorcycle and traveling in his RV.
Mr. McWhorter encouraged his family and friends to do everything in life with pride, dignity and do it right.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lavada McWhorter, his grandson Todd Wright and his granddaughters Tosha and Lacey Caudillo.
He is survived by his wife Donna McWhorter, and his children Trinity and Jayden McWhorter all of Big Point, Tanita (Claud) Hornsby of Lufkin,TX; Tommy Caudillo of Big Point, and Cecil Caudillo of Boaz, AL. He also leaves his grandchildren that were his life
Friday/Morgan,C.J./Matt, Tommy, Kaylor,Matthew and his great grandchildren Rylee, Rani and Klaire. He is also survived by his sister Geneva (Art) Cantrell of AR; his brother Jack McWhorter of Anniston, AL; his special nieces Sheila, Willie Ruth, and Karen. 2 dear friends James Tindle and Dora McIntyre.
Visitation will be Sunday April 7,2019 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home at 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS. A celebration of his life in his honor will begin at 5:00 pm from the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donation to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project on his behalf.
