Roy Cain, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at age 87. He was a devoted Husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Sallis, MS on September 30, 1936. He worked for over 30 years as a shift supervisor of operations at The Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula, MS. He was selected to attend high school at Capital Page School in Washington, D.C. under Rep. William Colmer. While in Washington D.C., he met the love of his life Wilda Cain. He was a member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church, Rev. Nance Hixon, Pastor. Roy was an avid golfer and enjoyed the game for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Otis Cain and Mary Powell Cain, 2 brothers, 5 sisters, God-daughter: Brianna Phillips Tringale, and daughter-in-law Tammy Cain.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Wilda Cain, Beloved son: Roy Cain, Jr. (Olga Matherne), grandchildren: Brad Zani and Shana Martin, God-daughters: Jennifer Cone and Jessica Weaver, Special Caregiver: Melissa Gregory and a very beloved grand dog, Peanut. He also leaves to cherish his memories nieces, nephews, relatives, and other friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home at 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral hour in the chapel of the funeral home. The interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens. We will gather after the interment at Hickory Hills Country Club, 900 Hickory Hill Dr., Gautier, MS for hors d'oeuvres and fellowship.
