Mrs. Ruby Jo Parker, age 83, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in her home with family and friends by her side. She was born November 30, 1935 in Nyota, Alabama.
Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Carlton Parker; her father, James Arthur Garner and mother, Lorene Hicks Garner; her sisters, Willie McCay, Cathy Hays, and Clara Garner; brothers, James Leroy Garner, Tony Garner, Charles Reno, and Frances Reno; and lifelong friend, Ruth Lowe.
Mrs. Parker is survived by two sisters, Nell Mozley (Charles) and Ann Owensby; two sons, Chris Parker (Teresa) and Bobby Parker; one daughter, Deborah Parker (Rick); devoted Mamaw to two grandsons, Christopher Parker (Stephanie) and Wesley Parker; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Parker and Kai Parker.
She loved gardening, working puzzles and taking care of her fur baby, Romeo. Most especially, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her loving and giving spirit, always welcoming extended family and friends with a big smile and open heart.
The family would like to especially thank the hospice team at Encompass Health for the loving care given.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 4, 2019, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 4:00p.m. from the Chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home with Pastor David Thomas officiating. Interment will be held Monday, Aug. 5, 2019 at 1:30p.m. in Biloxi National Cemetery.
