Ruth Irene Comeaux, 80 of Moss Point, MS passed away April 8, 2023.
She was born to the late James & Ernestine Byrd in Pascagoula, MS she graduated from Gulfport High in 1961 and took many business classes at Perk College.
She was married to the love of her life Glen Comeaux on May 1, 1987, and resided in Moss Point, MS. Irene was survived by her husband Glen D. Comeaux, brother James "Jimmy" (Lori) Byrd, sister Sharon (Peter) VanParys, daughter Terri (Chuck) Graham, sons Scott Comeaux and Mark (Lisa) Comeaux, grandsons Taylor (Brittany) Morse and Jarred Comeaux, great-granddaughter Veronica "Ronnie" Morse and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
For many years she worked as an Administrative Assistant with the Civil Service then moved to Gulfport, MS and worked for the Department of Agriculture as Head of Administration and retired from NOAA Fisheries.
Irene deeply loved her husband and was immensely proud of her family and she leaves behind beautiful memories. She loved to entertain and never met a stranger, she was a spitfire and was passionate about her family and friends. She loved to paint and loved planting beautiful flowers in her yard.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to caregivers Angie Phillips, Heather Preston, and Hospice of Light and their dedicated nurses Paige Cochran and Rhonda Deschesnes for their tenderness and sensitivity as well as the emotional support they showed our family.
Visitation will be held at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Moss Point, MS on Fri April 14, 2023 10-11, with the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Chris King officiating. The entombment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport, MS.
