Sandra Joyce (Morgan) McCorkle, 81, of Moss Point, MS, passed away peacefully at home with her family on September 18, 2023.
Sandra was born on September 8,1942, in Hattiesburg, MS to the late Henry J. and Helen Blakely Morgan. She married Alva R. McCorkle on April 19, 1963, and soon moved to Texas while he attend seminary. Sandra enjoyed life as a pastor's wife and servant for the Lord. A friend to all who met her, she delighted in sharing her talents of crocheting, cooking, gardening and canning with others. She worked in several school districts throughout the years and was employed at the Jackson County Health Department for nineteen years.
Sandra was a devoted wife and mother, and encourager to her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alva R. McCorkle and daughter, Kelli McCorkle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sandra's memory to Gideon International-Moss Point Camp, P.O. Box 1027, Escatawpa, MS, 39552-1027.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Midway Baptist Church and First Baptist Church for their encouragement and prayers and the SRHS Hospice of Light for their dedicated staff who were compassionate and supportive during this time.
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 20, 2023, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS, the funeral service will follow at 11:00AM with Bro. Phillip Price officiating. Interment will be at Highland Park Cemetery at 2:00PM Hattiesburg, MS.
