Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Sara Clark Rush, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Sara departed from this life in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 92.
Sara was born on March 3, 1933, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Marshall and Bernice Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Bernice Clark, her husband Howard H. Rush, Jr., her daughter Delilah Marie Rush, and her sister Imogene Brooks.
Sara was blessed to have such a large family, being survived by her children, Karen (Eddie) Waters of Pascagoula, Duane (Debra) Rush of Pascagoula, and Joy (Richard) Rayborn of Ocean Springs. Grandchildren Brian (Jill) Waters, Brannan Waters, Amber Estes, Jeremy Rush, Jansen (Candice) Rayborn, Justin (Ava) Rayborn, and Joel Rayborn. Great-grandchildren Emery Waters, Blake Seal, Chase (Victoria) Waters, Jordan Waters, Conner (Hope) Estes, Mason Estes, Madison Rush, Mackenzie Rush, Carter Rayborn, Caroline Rayborn, Clarke Rayborn, Jordan Rayborn, Kobe Rayborn, and Orion Rayborn.
Great-Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Estes, Uriah Estes, Maxwell Estes, Carson Day, and Karmyn Rush. She leaves her sister Donna Hammond and numerous nieces and nephews.
In her professional life, she worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding, where she retired in 1994. Later in her retirement years, she worked for Dr. John Privett, DMD.
Sara loved southern gospel music. Her favorite pastime was traveling across the United States in the family motor coach. She was an avid reader and enjoyed studying the Bible. She also liked journaling to record her thoughts, memories and adventures.
Sara was a faithful member of the Pascagoula Church of God, where she taught Sunday School. She was a lifetime member and past National Secretary of the Family Motor Coach Association. She was also a member of the Mississippi Order of the Eastern Star #151 and a proud member of the Pascagoula High School Class of 1950 Reunion Committee.
Sara's family wants to extend a special thank you to Ms. Paulette McLemore for her special friendship and devoted care; and to Chaplain Brian Pullin and the nurses and aides at Deaconess Hospice.
Friends and Family are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Pascagoula Church of God, located at 2511 Chicot Road in Pascagoula.. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sara's honor.
