Selma Ruth Rayborn, 88, of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away peacefully to her new Home on March 25, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama.
Ruth was raised in Columbia, Mississippi, and met the only love of her life, W.T. "Bill" Rayborn. They soon married on December 20, 1951. Ruth was a beautiful, sweet, strong lady. She was a devoted wife for 55 years until Bill passed away on January 6, 2006. Since that time, Ruth never dated. He was still her only love. And now they are together again forever.
Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a member of the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in Gautier, Mississippi. She worked for Sears until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. She liked reading and working on puzzle books.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Stella (Scoggins) Hicks, husband, W.T. "Bill" Rayborn, her daughter, Kathyanne Rayborn, her son, Kerry Rayborn, brother, C.W. Hicks, sisters, Irene Baggett, Pauline Baggett, Dorothy Crawley, and Alene Loffin.
Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Johnson, and her husband Lee. 4 granddaughters, one step-granddaughter, 2 step-grandsons, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 6-8pm. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS, 39563. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, at 10 a.m. in the Holder-Wells funeral home chapel with Bro. Tim Arrington officiating. Serving as pallbearers; Lee Johnson, Bryan Burks, Josh Goff, Elijah Goff, Tim Burks, and Adam Burks. Graveside service and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS.
