Stella Graves Prince, 97 of Milton, Florida, formerly of Pascagoula, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, she was born April 3, 1922. Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Ransom and Roxie Lafferty Graves; her husband, Hugh Prince; grandson, John Adam Lee; brothers, Wilson (Sarah) Graves, Tom (Evelyn) Graves and Timothy (Mildred) Graves; sisters, Reba (Albert) Patton, Ventus (CD) Ingram and Juanelle (Jim) Neely Edleman. Mrs. Prince is survived by her children, Aloha Lee, Lola (Winston) Burnham, Allen (Patsy) Prince, Roxie (Randy) McGilberry and Tonja (Frank) Jelercic and a brother, Jimmy (Sue) Graves. Grandchildren, Melody (Jerry) Samborne, Brooks Singley, Jason (Juanita) Prince, Brandon (Amy) Prince, Seth McGilberry, Alexa (Andy) Yates, Britani (Kevin) Blackburn, Misty (Steve) Doss, Payton McGilberry, Anthony (Tucker) Jelercic and Matthew Jelercic. Great-grandchildren, Sydney Singley, Grace Doss, Taylor Prince, Janson Prince, Kyndall Samborne, Jathan Prince, Ethan Prince, Jerry Mark Samborne, Oliver Blackburn, Juliana Prince, Poppy Mae Blackburn, Ransom Yates, Claudia Blackburn, Jasper Blackburn, River Yates, Rhett Yates, Sabastian Blackburn and Rosemary Jelercic. Mrs. Prince was a graduate of Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Tennessee. She retired from Sears in 1997 at the age of 75. She was an active member of Central Church of Christ and Community in Pascagoula. A highlight of her volunteerism was preparing and serving food to the community after Hurricane Katrina to help with disaster relief. Stella was also known as "Stella by Starlight" because she encouraged others and was a Christian example to all of those who knew her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm from the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Webb officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Prince, Brandon Prince, Seth McGilberry, Anthony Jelercic and Matthew Jelercic. Honorary pallbearers will be, John Adam Lee, Winston Burnham, Randy McGilberry and Frank Jelercic. Due to extreme heat warnings on Saturday, the family has requested that the committal service, which would normally be held at Jackson County Memorial Park, will be held at the conclusion of the funeral service at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in an effort to keep everyone safe. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials, in memory of Mrs. Stella Prince, can be made to the Grace Foundation c/o Regency Hospice 50 Beverly Parkway Suite 200 Pensacola, Florida 32505.
